A word of the Governor of the South Bohemian Region Martin Kuba

Ladies and gentlemen,

I am honoured to be able to greet you on the occasion of the third year of the Forum of Partner Regions of the South Bohemian Region and then welcome you from September 21 to September 22, 2022 in the representative premises of the Aleš South Bohemian Gallery in Hluboká nad Vltavou. I am also very pleased to say that we will finally meet again after four long years, because the two-year cycle of holding this event was practically cancelled from day to day due to another strong wave of an emerging coronavirus pandemic in 2020.

The Forum of Partner Regions of the South Bohemian Region has already become a traditional, important international conference and meeting of friends from many parts of the world. And as we have been able to make sure in the past years, we can overcome any distance together and with our efforts and we are able to function as equal partners. This current Forum will focus on current topics of regional and European significance. Just also with regard to the fact that at the time of its holding the Czech Republic will chair the Council of the European Union and the Forum will be associated with the meeting of EU ambassadors in our country. We will discuss topics such as energy, innovation and modern technologies, tourism, culture and education. You can also look forward to an interesting social cultural program, within which one of the most important and most famous contemporary Czech violinists, Mr. Jaroslav Svěcený, will perform.

Finally, I would like to mention that the motto “Friends of our friends are also our friends” has been associated with the Forum of Partner Regions of the South Bohemian Region since its origin, so since 2016. And it has become an integral part of it. I appreciate that we will continue the tradition of the Forum and, for the third time, we will be able to strengthen our mutual partnerships.

Martin Kuba
Governor of the South Bohemian Region
